I have stopped the development of this plugin. I will contribute in the future to the Free Panoramic Viewer project.
GLPanoView is a freeware player for cubic QTVR and equirectangular panoramic images with OpenGL. Quicktime is not needed.
It supports also the same MIME-Types as Pangea VR for MAC,
so you can see PangeaVR Panoramas with Netscape/Firefox. This doesn't work for Internet Explorer unless you add the <object> tag,
because <object> tags are not supported by PangeaVR,
and so the tags are missing. If you add the GLPanoView <object> tags, this should work for both plattforms.
Downloads:
GLPanoView Version 0.6.1 GLPanoView_Install_0_6_1a.exe (~1,6Mb)
This installer includes the Plugins for Internet Explorer/Mozilla & Firefox. To install just run the installation program!
Here is a Testpage
Usage:
For the standalone player just click on the GLPanoView Icon on your Desktop and hit "open file". You can move around by dragging with the mouse.
Use the crtl- and shift- keys to zoom in/out. Hit F11 or double click on the image for fullscreen.
By unchecking "bound moves" in the options you can pitch more than +/- 90 degrees. By checking "load textures compressed"
the textures are stored compressed in the VRAM of the graphic adapter reducing the memory usage.
Technical information for the usage of the plugin: embedding the plugin in your website
Limitations:
For now, cylindric QTVRs, and movies with compressed headers are not supported. Not many checks, if the QTVR movie is valid.
If you load a equirectangular picture the zenith- and nadir region are poor quality, caused by the
segmentation of the approached sphere.
Limitations for the plugin-Version:
For now, equirectangular pictures are not supported!
Changelog:
Changes since Version 0.6
+ Additional parameter autofit
+ Better method to determine the amount of VRAM
